わたしが絵を描いた絵本『Magnificent Birds』のアメリカ版とフランス語版ができた。外国版ができるのははじめてなのでうれしい！
The US edition from Candlewick Press has the Hummingbird image for the cover and it has already out since the 4th September. French one from Sarbacane will be out on the 3rd October. For this edition, the publisher also partnered with a bird conservation charity in France, LPO(Ligue pour la protection des oiseaux).
アメリカ版は同じ英語ではあるけれど、表紙が異なり、中の文章もスペルの違い以上に変わっていた。イギリスが好む文章量や内容、書き方はアメリカとはずいぶん異なるらしく、イギリス版とアメリカ版で中身が違う本は多いらしい。絵はどちらも全く同じだ。
フランス版は、フランスの鳥類を保護する団体と提携を組んで出されたようで、それもとてもうれしかった。
