Going International

Two of my picture books are going international! 

子育てとコロナで完全に国内に閉じこもった気分でいたのだが、わたしの絵本が外に飛び出してくれていて、とてもうれしい。 

"When the Sakura Bloom," the English version of my Sakura book was selected as one of forty books on 2023 Outstanding International Books list by USBBY( The United States Board on Books for Young People)! 

Also it got 2022 honorable mention for Freeman Award! 

『さくらがさくと』は2021年に英語版を『When the Sakura Bloom』としてオーストラリアのBerbay Publishing が出してくれ、昨年春にはアメリカ版にもなった。そのアメリカ版が、USBBY（アメリカの児童図書評議会）が出す2023年のすぐれたインターナショナルな絵本・児童書のリストに載ったり、さらに東・東南アジア地域についての絵本と児童書に送られるフリーマン賞の佳作に入ったりした。
アジアの絵本として注目されているようでありがたい。

そして3月24日からミュンヘン国際児童図書館ではじまった企画展「黒・白・グレー〜色のない絵本」では、なんと『じょやのかね』が展示されている。

My picture book "Jyoyanokane（Ring the Bell on New Year's Eve)" is now been exhibited in "Black White Grey" exhibition at International Youth Library in Munich!! 

The exhibition is held until 3rd September so you have plenty of time to plan to visit there.

Saturday＆ Sunday 2 pm - 5 pm 

Entrance Fees: Children and Young Adults under 18: free 

Adults: 3 Euros (Collective ticket for all exhibitions and museums), 2 Euros reduced entrance fee

とても忙しかった２月に数週間のうちに絵本について語ったビデオを作って送ってくれと言われ、必死で撮影した動画も、館内で見られるほか、ミュンヘン国際児童図書館のwebページに載っている。 何しろ休日はチビがひっきりなしにしゃべっているし、平日はちょうどマンションの外壁工事中で工事音がうるさく、平日のお昼の約1時間しか撮影できる時がなかったのだ！　会心の出来とはいえないけど、喋りたいことは盛り込んだつもり。
