In the afternoon when the sun shone from lower angle, the lapwing feather turned beautiful green and red and purple. It looked like those Thai silks which are woven with different colour strings and has different sheens depending on the angle you look at it.
途中、数時間は別の所で探鳥もしたものの、朝から夕方までひたすらタゲリを観察し続けた。始めはなかなか形が取れず、ずいぶん苦労したけれど、何度も描くうちに何となく、どういう線がタゲリらしいのかが見えてくる気がした。
風の強い日だったので、ほとんどが風上を向いてばかりいたのだが、たまに鳥が風下を向くと、冠羽が逆立っておもしろい。

ヒヨ吉さんが「あれ、カシラダカのさえずり?!?!」とおっしゃるので、辺りを見回したのだが、見つかったのはこの雄のモズ。しばらくしたら、ルリビタキのさえずりになった。色々な鳥の鳴き声を真似て、きれいにさえずっていた。近くに雌がいたので、どうやらアピールしていたようだ。
