Early October is the best time to watch flocks and flocks of Greater White-fronted Geese at Miyajimanuma, the Ramsar site. On the peak day, people counted 70,000 of them. The geese only stop there for a few days during the autumn migration. After I came back home, my friend in Sapporo wrote to me saying that the number went down to 30,000. So the peak time was only a few days and I was there then!

I tried to capture the shape of the V formation flight. They are very interesting lines on the canvas of sky.

Swans and a Bean Goose.
